How do you change? Psychologist Marcia Reynolds writes, “Your brain’s primary function is to protect you from harm and discomfort. You must convince your brain that you will not only be safe if you change, you will be better off.”
Change occurs over time by repeating a new habit. Your job is to convince your brain this is a really worthy idea and shazam you are on your way to change.
Questions to Ask: Why is this important to you? Why are you reluctant to change? What will happen in your life if you don’t change this behavior? What will your life look like if you create this new habit? What is the payoff for the new habit?
A habit tracker can be powerful tool to hold you accountable.
